Lost a Pet?

If you have lost your pet, please file a lost report online at the link above. If you find your lost animal, please bring the following items with you:

• A leash & collar or transport carrier, so your pet may be escorted home safely.

• A government issued photo ID, such as a drivers license.

• Proof that your pet has a current rabies vaccination – Preferably a rabies vaccination certificate specifying the vaccine’s date of expiry.

• An appropriate method of payment for impound fees – We gladly accept Cash, Checks, Visa, Mastercard, or Discover.

You may fill out a lost report online using the appropriate link above. We highly recommend that you come in on Open days to check if your pet is here. A phone call will not suffice in the event your pet is missing. Only YOU can identify your pet. With your lost report, photos of your pet are most helpful to us along with a detailed description of your animal. 

Colorado state law requires an animal be held for a period of 5 days after which time the animal legally belongs to the Logan County Humane Society if not reclaimed. This is why it is also important to check our adoption section as your pet may already be available for adoption.

In the event your pet is here at our shelter, you will be required to pay impound fees to reclaim. Fees can vary greatly depending upon how long your animal has been here and if you need an updated rabies vaccine, etc. State law requires that all dogs and cats over 4 months are currently vaccinated against rabies, and owners must show documented proof to reclaim your pet. If you do not have proof of rabies, you must call the local vets office to schedule a time to receive the vaccine(Let them know the animal is at the Humane Society) and than call us at 970-520-2804 and let us know what time to meet at the vet. You are responsible for paying the vet for the rabies vaccine.

Fees:

• Reclaim Fee: $25 (for first offense) $40 (for additional offences)  

• Care and Feeding: $17 per night
